I am a freelance writer based in Brooklyn, as well as a writing professor. I write autobiographical essays, short fiction, and features on food, travel, and architecture. My writing has appeared or is forthcoming in SheKnows, Southwest: The Magazine, Metropolis, Catapult, AlterNet, The Points Guy, the Nashville Review, The Rattling Wall, and Litro. With my husband, I founded and edit Parks and Points; we host a fall creative nonfiction contest and a spring poetry series.

I also teach expository and creative writing to undergraduates at SUNY Purchase and Fordham University, and I lead creative writing workshops for teens with The Creators Collective in Brooklyn.
